Brian Schultz eliminated "Big Pot" Bob Johnson to capture the first-ever winner-take-all JBPS Tournament of Champions. "Big Pot" Bob stood as chip leader for the majority of the evening but could not hang on for the win.
Schultz captured the Summer Splash title earlier in the year to qualify while "Big Pot" Bob's excellent showing at the JBPS Championship earned him a 6th place finish in the Player of the Year Standings and a seat in the Tournament of Champions.
The final hand matched Schultz's A-10 suited versus Johnson's 6-8 suited. A ten on the flop and an ace on the turn solidifed the win for Schultz.
With the win, Schultz wins a spot in next year's Tournament of Champions as well as the distinction of being the first to be named JBPS Grand Champion.
