How are the prize pools calculated?

Portions of every buy-in and re-buy are rolled into an overall prize pool for the end of the season. 15% of each buy-in and 7% of each re-buy is contributed to the prize pool. 40% of the prize pool is reserved for the Tournament of Champions and the other 60% is distributed to the top 10 finishers in the Player of the Year Standings using an accelerating algorithm with a rate of 50% and a decay of 25%.



How are Player of the Year Points awarded?

JBPS Player Points: Points are assigned as follows:

  1. 10 points for each place in the tournament. Example: 1st place in a 10 person event would recieve 100 points. 1st Place in a 20 person event would receive 200 points. Last place would recieve 10 points.
  2. Plus a bonus 1 point for every dollar earned.
  3. A 25% point penalty is assessed if the player has re-bought. Example: 1000 points - 25% penalty = 750 points
  4. Fractions are rounded to the nearest whole number.

What is the Player of the Year tie-break procedure?

The following steps are taken (in order) to break a tie:

  1. Player of the Year Points
  2. Number of tournaments won
  3. Highest finish in any one event
  4. Heads-up Match
  5. Average points per tournament (if #4 is not feasible)
  6. Coin Flip
